NewYu policy

Accessibility

NewYu's accessibility-minded, WCAG-oriented approach for the current prototype: what is implemented, known limitations, and how to give feedback.

Accessibility

Built to be usable, and to keep improving.

NewYu is accessibility-minded and WCAG-oriented (targeting WCAG 2.2 AA, with WCAG 2.1 AA as a minimum reference). This describes the current prototype's practice, not a certification.

Accessibility is ongoing work and still requires qualified review before a public launch.

This page describes how the current NewYu private-beta demo works today. It is written for transparency, is not a formal legal agreement, legal advice, or a claim of compliance with any specific regulation, and still requires qualified legal review before a public launch.

An accessibility-minded prototype

NewYu aims to be usable by as many people as possible. The current private-beta prototype is built with accessibility in mind and oriented toward the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines, using WCAG 2.1 AA as a minimum technical reference.

This is a statement of intent and current practice for a prototype, not a claim of full conformance, certification, or legal compliance. Accessibility is an ongoing effort and still requires qualified review before a public launch.

What is in place today

A skip-to-content link, semantic landmarks, and a single main heading per page, so keyboard and screen-reader users can move through pages predictably.

Keyboard-reachable controls with a visible focus indicator, no keyboard traps, and mobile tap targets sized for comfortable use.

Forms with programmatic labels, error text linked to its field, and status messages for success and error states.

Support for reduced-motion preferences, and a high-contrast (forced-colors) fallback so focus stays visible.

Text and interface colors chosen to be readable, with meaning never conveyed by color alone.

Known limitations

NewYu is an evolving prototype, so some areas are still being refined and have not all been independently audited with assistive technology.

The interactive Arena room preview and some motion or layout details may not yet meet every WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion. We treat these as work in progress.

Accessibility feedback

If you hit an accessibility barrier, please tell us — your feedback directly shapes what we fix next.

Reach the NewYu team through the channel where you received access. If you can, include the page, your device or browser, any assistive technology you use, and what happened.
